The Challenge
Rostelecom is Russia's leading long-distance telephony provider. The company’s real estate portfolio consists of 10,000 properties totalling seven-million square metres. The portfolio mix includes offices, administrative buildings, operational facilities, infrastructure objects, data centres, network hubs, warehouses and more. Rostelecom engaged Cushman & Wakefield to develop a CRE strategy and governance procedures for corporate and regional teams with the intention to centralise the CRE function while retaining operational control in its five regions.
The Solution
Step 1:
Create a real estate strategy that aligns with the business plan; and develop mandates and governance procedures for central and regional real estate teams to increase transparency and clarity of business and real estate decisions.
Step 2:
Develop an e-based property-information platform to capture portfolio management and inventory data supported by bespoke metrics (KPIs) to measure the real estate portfolio performance and implement tactical steps to optimise it.
The Results
Step 1 has been completed for the Moscow and Moscow Region. This is an ongoing assignment.
