The Challenge
Cushman & Wakefield LLP were appointed by Stryker to manage the design and procurement of a mixed use new UK Headquarters building of 100,000 sq ft. This was to consist of a 50:50 split between fully fitted offices and a warehouse and logistics facility. Stryker required a building that was not available on the market and was too specific to their need to attract a financially acceptable deal from a developer.
The Solution
Cushman & Wakefield LLP advised and assisted Stryker with the selection and appointment of a full project team, to undertake the site due diligence required for the site acquisition and planning application. The design team was also selected to provide a project to meet the specific client brief and is currently expected to complete the works in August 2011. The procurement method and management of the construction was recommended to the client to ensure that it meets their cost, programme and risk profile.
The Results
Cushman & Wakefield used their extensive market knowledge to ensure that the most suitable team and contractors were appointed for the project aligned with detailed strategic advice to achieve the key stages in the fast track project to meet the clients’ occupancy requirements.
“Through great collaboration with our project management team from Cushman & Wakefield we genuinely feel that all of our expectations have not only been met but have been exceeded as well as creating a building that looks truly stunning.” Laurence Hipkin, Vice President & General Manager, Stryker UK Ltd.
