The Challenge
Due to an increase in staff numbers, Mitsui had outgrown their office space and had to move as their current space did not provide them with the required flexibility.
The nature of their business required the new location to be within easy access for insurance brokers.
The Solution
Following the evaluation of a number of possibilities, the building selected was the FAB building which formed part of the Willis tower building complex in the heart of the insurance triangle in the City of London. Mitsui took floors 1 to 4 which totalled 56,000 sq ft.
By ensuring close liaison between the end user, in house real estate team, C&W client account manager, legal team and external technical consultants, the works were completed on time and to a high standard.
The Results
Mitsui were able to secure floor space in one of the best locations in the city of London for insurance companies; right next to Lloyd’s of London and the Willis tower.
The very competitive nature of the insurance business meant that Mitsui’s fit-out introduced a number of different spaces such as brokers lounges, informal meeting spaces, touchdown areas which combined with the high quality of finish differentiated them from their competitors.
