The Challenge

Shurgard Europe required the valuation of 2 joint venture self storage portfolios for loan security purposes. The first JV holds 38 properties across 6 countries; Germany, Denmark, UK, France, The Netherlands and Sweden. The second JV holds 34 properties in 7 countries; the same six as the first JV plus Belgium.

The Solution

Utilising Cushman & Wakefield’s wide geographic spread across Europe and its market leading knowledge of the self storage industry our Valuation & Advisory team was able to value all 72 properties.

The Results

Both joint ventures were valued to the clients high standards, within the allotted timescales and to budget in order to satisfy the banks. This included the refinancing of JV2 with a new banking syndicate.

"Cushman & Wakefield has valued for Shurgard Europe on many occasions since 1999 and we have always been impressed with their tenacity, attention to detail and their specialist knowledge of the self storage sector."
