The Challenge

We were instructed by Clouston Group and Newcastle City Council to provide masterplanning, pre and post development advice, including marketing strategy for Stephenson Quarter which is a 10 acre mixed use development site. First phase represented the delivery of Crowne Plaza Hotel, a 380 multi storey car park and The Rocket, a 35,000 sq ft speculative office building.

The Solution

We agreed with our clients the marketing strategy moving forward for the disposal of The Rocket, which included the following:

  • A new bespoke brochure highlighting key elements of the development.
  • Extensive onsite marketing boards styled to be in keeping with the high profile nature of the development.
  • Incorporation of The Rocket into the Stephenson Quarter website, again ensuring continuity with the wider development.
  • Marketing via other media’s such as websites, extensive coverage in local press and on line sources.

The Results

We secured a single tenant for the entire building within two months of practical completion of the construction of The Rocket. The American contact centre, Convergys, acquired the building providing up to 600 new jobs to Newcastle city centre. Alongside the new Crowne Plaza Hotel, The Rocket represents phase I of the Stephenson Quarter development site with the second phase incorporating a 140,000 sq ft office development named Stephenson House.
