Jo Malone has opened a new boutique store in St Andrews.
The high end fragrance retailer has moved into a newly built shop at 8-12 Bell Street, the perfect setting for its range of colognes, aromatic candles, bath and body products.
Jo Malone has taken a new 10 year lease at a starting rent of £27,500 on the unit which covers 601 sq ft. There is one retail unit remaining within the development which extends to 344 sq ft and will be ready for occupation in early 2015.
Stewart Irwin of Cushman & Wakefield acted as a joint agent with Burns & Partners for the landlord, Ardross Partnership. He said: “St Andrews with its mix of independent and high street stores, renowned university, visitor attractions and golfing heritage is the ideal location for an international brand like Jo Malone.
“The store is in the heart of the town close to other upmarket retailers such as Jack Wills and Joules and has all benefits of a modern retail unit but with the charm of a period store, thanks to the careful way in which it has been constructed by the developers to fit in with its historic surroundings."
JLL acted for Jo Malone on the letting, which comes just months after C&W let 45 Bell Street to Minick of St Andrews Artisan Butchers. Acting on behalf of Timpson’s, C&W were able to secure a 10 year sublease at a rent of £21,000 per annum.
