With the 2017 Revaluation due to come into effect on 1 April 2017, new bills will soon start to drop through letterboxes across the country. Some will be very welcome, others less so.
In order to help rate payers (both Landlords and Tenants) navigate through the minefield and red tape, leading property consultancy, Cushman & Wakefield is offering a free drop-in clinic at their Leeds city centre office in Park Square for any business who would like advice on their rate bill.
Experienced Chartered Surveyors who know the market and who know the appeal system will be available to sit down and go through your valuation in detail with you. In addition, they can provide a five year budget forecast, explain the new “Check Challenge Appeal” procedure, and detail any reliefs that may be available. Advice regarding Empty Property Rates is of course also available. If you have a copy of a recent rate bill, it would be advisable to bring it along in order for us to check it for accuracy.
The clinic will be available during the hours of 9.30am until 5.00pm, Monday to Friday, starting on Monday 6 March 2017. The office is located on the second floor at St Paul’s House, 23 Park Square, Leeds, LS1 2ND and is easily accessible from Leeds train station. On street parking is available in the vicinity as well.
