Cushman & Wakefield’s residential team has continued its expansion with the arrival of Daniel McDonagh as a Partner in the firm’s land and development team.
Daniel, who joins from Berkeley Homes (Southern), has extensive experience in the residential development market, having previously worked for both Linden Homes and St James acquiring prime brownfield development sites in the South London boroughs and Home Counties.
He will spearhead the continued expansion of the firm’s instruction base in the South East, where the team has built an invaluable client base in recent years. This includes the Homes and Communities Agency, National Grid, the NHS and Local Authorities as well as private sector clients. Mandates cover consultancy and disposal work on sites in Ascot, Basildon, Chatham, Crawley, Colchester, Gravesend, Hertford and Letchworth among others.
Daniel McDonagh, Partner, Cushman & Wakefield, said: “I am delighted to be joining a successful team with significant ambitions for growth at this exciting time in the firm’s evolution. With intense price growth in London in recent years, and the unsustainable gap between central London and parts of the South East, we see significant long-term growth in this market. This is particularly the case in commuter towns within easy reach of London with buyers seeking better value, more space and a wider choice of schools.”
Candice Matthews, International Partner and Head of Residential, Cushman & Wakefield, added: “The growth of our residential business remains a key priority for Cushman & Wakefield and I am delighted to welcome Daniel on board. His comprehensive understanding of the development process and buy-side perspective will greatly benefit our landowner clients, and added to the existing team, will enable us to firmly establish our presence in this important market.”
Daniel is the latest senior hire to Cushman & Wakefield’s expanding residential team, following the recruitment of Neil Batty as Head of International Sales, and Fergus Jack as a Partner in the Investment & Private Rented Sector team.
