What is the I-Suite?
The I-Suite is a series of events, tailored specifically for the ‘influencers’ of real estate and related industries.
The objective of the I-Suite is to create a network of motivated, ambitious, professionals who represent the influencers within their respective industries.
We want to inspire the influencers and create a hot pot of talent, creative ideas and personalities who wish to interact beyond their typical business social circles.
What do our events involve?
I-Suite events are comprised of expert panel discussions with great speakers, covering topical (often non-real estate) focussed themes. Recent events have discussed the importance of creating a personal brand, and explored the technological disruption that is driving change within the Proptech, Fintech and Hosptech industries.
Each event is coupled with a fun interactive activity to encourage networking, such as a canal boat cruise down Regents Canal, or PopUpPainting of our infamous London skyline!
Who should attend the I-Suite?
Our audience are motivated, ambitious, young professionals across a range of industries including real estate, finance, tech, legal and media.
We’re looking for the next generation of decision makers, typically up to 12 years industry experience, that wish to engage beyond traditional corporate forums.
‘Incubate to accelerate’ – 7th February 2018 (London)
The third event in our I-Suite series - ‘Incubate to Accelerate’ took place on 7th February 2018 at the Fuse innovation space at Allen & Overy, London.
The ‘Incubate to Accelerate’ event explored the growing number of corporates seeking to harness the potential of start-ups by creating corporate incubator programmes and innovation spaces. Corporate incubator programmes support start-up companies at an early stage by giving them access to expertise, mentoring, physical workspace and sometimes investment. The conversation concluded with a lively Q&A session.
Our panellists were:
- Shruti Ajitsaria – Head of Allen & Overy’s incubator programme Fuse
- Joe May – Co-Founder of Ithaca (Fuse cohort)
- Darren Pirie – Head of Entrepreneur Development at NatWest’s Entrepreneurial Spark
- Jason Tisdall – CEO of Fuel Included (Entrepreneurial Spark cohort)
The panel was moderated by Charlotte Gannon, C&W Global Occupier Services.
The conversation focussed on the following topics:
- Why did these companies launch a corporate incubator programme and how?
- Why did the entrepreneurs join these incubator programmes and how have their businesses benefited?
- How do corporate incubators select their cohort of start-up and entrepreneurs?
- Why would a start-up join an incubator programme rather than a co-working space?
- At what point does the corporate incubator or the entrepreneur decide they are ready leave to exit the programme?
Following the panel discussion, guests were invited to participate in a networking mixology class.
Breaking into teams they had to work together on various activities – a quiz, a taste test and then they were asked to create their own bespoke cocktail complete with name and theme.
The final creations were presented for judging. Scores for all three activities were totted up and our overall winning team announced.
The objective of the I-Suite is to create a network of motivated, ambitious, professionals who represent the influencers within their respective industries. We want to create a hot pot of talent, creative ideas and personalities who wish to interact beyond their typical business social circles.
