Exclusive mandate will see partnership seek new store locations across Germany’s main cities
Cushman & Wakefield advises Ted Baker on new locations across Europe
Cushman & Wakefield and German leasing partner COMFORT have been appointed by Ted Baker to source new store locations for the British fashion brand as it expands its presence in Germany.
Ted Baker is seeking prime high street and shopping centre locations, focusing initially on Germany’s largest cities including Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt, and Dusseldorf. The iconic British fashion brand currently has 16 concessions in premium department stores across Germany and is now seeking to develop a network of Ted Baker stores in the country.
Ted Baker is a global lifestyle brand offering menswear, womenswear and accessories. Founded in the UK in 1988, Ted Baker has over 500 stores and concessions worldwide, including 195 in the UK and 113 in mainland Europe. As well as its roll out of new stores across Germany, Cushman & Wakefield’s Cross Border Retail team is advising Ted Baker on expansion and opening new stores across Spain, France and Portugal.
Mark Barrett, Head of EMEA Cross Border Retail at Cushman & Wakefield, said: “Ted Baker is a truly iconic British lifestyle brand with great heritage and enormous potential within Germany. British fashion is an international success story and Ted Baker’s unique style makes it an attractive partner for European landlords. We will be working with landlords in prime retail locations in Germany’s main cities, where Ted Baker will sit alongside other leading international brands. “Germany is an increasingly important destination for the world’s most exciting lifestyle brands, and Cushman & Wakefield’s partnership with COMFORT provides a powerful combination of global cross border retail expertise and an unrivalled local network. This latest exclusive mandate underlines Cushman & Wakefield’s position as a leading adviser in cross border retail across the EMEA region.”
Helge Strobel, Chairman of the Board of the COMFORT Group, added: “Our joint mandate for Ted Baker proves once again the significance of COMFORT's cooperation with Cushman & Wakefield. In the past 12 months alone, we have concluded contracts with five international clients, who have been brought to COMFORT through the unique global network of Cushman & Wakefield, and for whom we have found and contractually secured custom-fit and attractive sites in Germany.”
Cushman & Wakefield and COMFORT have also advised a wide range of international retail brands on market entry in Germany including Five Guys, Sambio Café and Miniso Home.
