The demand for data centre space is increasing at an accelerated rate, whilst the technology at the core of its operation is rapidly changing. Although cost remains key, there are many fundamental factors to consider for the provision of a data centre, which will impact all stakeholders, from landlord to end-user and operator to investor.

Global integration, resource and research
We have a strong record of accomplishment working with data centre occupiers, operators and investors across the globe. The Data Centre Advisory team extends to a 30-member international operation supported by C&W’s wider global broker network and research teams. We offer a fully integrated Data Centre Advisory global coverage working in partnership with our colleagues in the Americas and Asia-Pacific enabling us to support our clients with multi-national requirements in a consistent and truly collaborative way. For our larger clients with multiple locations, we have created an account management function, with a single point of contact able to manage multiple assignments. This has become increasingly important with decision-makers often based centrally, away from project locations.
Data Centre Risk Index
In partnership with engineering consultants Hurley Palmer Flatt and technology and security experts Source8, C&W produce the Data Centre Risk Index. The index ranks key established and emerging locations by the risks affecting data centre operations. It has been designed primarily to support data centre due diligence and senior decision making when considering global investment and deployment activities. A latest version, the Data Centre Risk Index 2013, features 30 countries, risks and country and regional market commentaries. The 2016 edition is due for publication in June. The Index has become an established document of reference, promoting debate in the industry. The Index is regularly cited in industry publications, the wider global media, press and data centre conferences.
